Auger Boring
Auger drilling for pipes from 4" to 96" in lengths up to 200 meters.
What is Auger Boring?
Auger Boring drilling is a specialized technique that uses a rotating cutting head to install large diameter steel pipes, from 4" to 96", in lengths up to 200 meters.
This method is ideal for crossing avenues, rivers, canals, airports and railroad crossings. Drilling is performed in different soil types (sandy, clay, cobblestones) while hydraulic cylinders provide the driving force.
Drilling Process
Preparation and Positioning
The drilling equipment is positioned and the rotating cutting head is prepared according to soil type.
Auger Drilling
The cutting head rotates while hydraulic cylinders provide the necessary thrust force.
Pipe Installation
Steel pipe sections and auger are added as the machine advances.
Debris Evacuation
Debris is evacuated from the auger through the pipe to the start of the drilling.
Applications
Pipelines
Pipe installation for oil transportation
Aqueducts
Drinking water distribution systems
Sewers
Collectors and urban drainage systems
Power Grids
Ducts for electrical power cables
Telecommunications
Ducts for fiber optic and communications
Special Crossings
Under avenues, rivers, airports and railroads
